We’ve replaced the cam mechanism with a simple yet strong and reliable slide to raise and lower the ball. Pull the rod to raise the ball and push to lower. It’s that simple! When the ball is fully raised with the Roll Pin stop against the tube the ball is resting securely on the flat surface at the top of the slide. In this position, the Stainless Steel Detent Ball with 30lbs of spring behind it to mates with a hole in the bottom of the slide this prevents the slide from moving until the handle is pushed in to over-ride the spring. Quick, easy and clean. PopUp gives meaning to the phrase “User Friendly.” Tow when you need to and enjoy a smooth bed for all those other jobs when an ordinary hitch ball is always in the way. PopUp does not sacrifice strength for convenience. Hitches are rated at 7,500 lbs. maximum tongue weight and 30,000 lbs. maximum trailer weight. PopUp hitch components bolt together with the truck providing an extremely strong and reliable towing system. And you get this comforting strength with only a 3 hole in the truck bed floor, the smallest of ANY convertible gooseneck hitch ball you can buy. PopUp hitches are built specifically for each truck model ?? so they are a perfect fit. For safe towing, spring loaded U-bolts (which are level with the bed floor when not in use) are provided for anchoring Safety Chains. Front and Rear Cross Members are fabricated from 2 X 2.5 X .375 angle. Cross Members span and sit on top of the truck frame, thereby transferring all trailer tongue weight directly to the frame of the tow vehicle. Installation is quick and easy without lifting the bed of the truck. Does NOT require lowering exhaust, even on diesel trucks!
